Sobel Spine and Sports is conveniently located near the intersection of Tatum Boulevard and Bell Road in Phoenix, AZ, making it easily accessible from major highways.
From Highway 51: Take the Bell Road exit and head east. Continue for about one mile, and you will find the office on the north side of Bell Road.
From Loop 101: Exit at Tatum Boulevard and drive south. After a few miles, turn right (west) onto Bell Road.
The office is situated next to the APS building and directly across the street from Walmart. Look for the entrance on the north side of Bell Road to ensure you’ve arrived at the correct location. We are in the building that faces Bell Road and it says Sobel Spine and Sports on the window.
Sobel Spine and Sports is located immediately to the west of Sobel Family Medicine, making it the first door you will encounter in that direction.
If you happen to enter a large waiting area with multiple windows you have walked in Sobel Family Medicine and Physical therapy. My brothers Dr. Larry and Dr. Bruce Sobel are both fantastic family practitioners and that is their office. Sobel Spine and Sports is the next door to the west of theirs. We also jointly have a great physical therapist named Kyle that has years of experience treating all types of musculoskeletal conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept my insurance?
We accept most major insurance plans including Medicare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, and UnitedHealthcare. Call us at (602) 385-4160 before your visit and we'll confirm your specific coverage — there's no obligation and it only takes a minute.
Do I need a referral to see Dr. Sobel?
In most cases, no. Many insurance plans allow you to schedule directly with a specialist. Call our office and we'll let you know what your specific plan requires.
How quickly can I get an appointment?
We work hard to offer same-week appointments whenever possible. If you're in pain, we don't want you waiting. Call (602) 385-4160 and we'll get you in as soon as we can.
What should I bring to my first visit?
Please bring your insurance card, a photo ID, a list of any current medications, and any relevant imaging you may already have (X-rays, MRI, etc.). If you have prior medical records related to your condition, those are helpful too — but not required to get started.
Do you treat patients from Scottsdale, Chandler, and other Valley cities?
Yes — we see patients from throughout the Phoenix metro area including Scottsdale, Chandler, Tempe, Mesa, Gilbert, Glendale, and Paradise Valley. Our office is located at 4550 E Bell Road, Suite 110, Phoenix, AZ 85032, with easy access from the 101.
What types of conditions does Dr. Sobel treat?
Dr. Sobel is a board-certified physiatrist specializing in non-surgical treatment of back pain, sciatica, knee pain, shoulder pain, tendinitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, sports injuries, and other musculoskeletal conditions. If you're not sure whether your condition is something he treats, just call — there's no wrong question.
